Blog or Consequence

You probably heard about the news lately about 4 students who were suspended due to their fearless blog against their principal. While the media was debating and taking their sides, I was looking for the blogs to see it myself.

Here goes the blogsites of the 4 suspended students:

and more banters on this one:

Many issues have evolved regarding this incident. But I want to zero-in to these two:
Respect and Free Speech

Are the young people today losing their values that they just easily mock someone in authority? (or in the other hand, Are those in authority abusing their designated powers?)
Is free speech such a right that no one should ever penalize someone for speaking out loud?

What do you think? Comments below.

  1. there is such a thing as the first amendment and free speech you know. If the principal didnt like how she was portrayed in the blogs, at least she can sue for libel or something. suspending students purely for personal reasons and for saving her (probably unsavory character) is just pure bogus. just like the picture in your posts shows, someone ought to give her a headshot from a sniper rifle *evil evil mode*

  2. Wow i did not know that students now are not afraid to say anything at all for they know their rights(freedom of speech;expression),not like the old era's even if we did know our rights still we just sit and keep quite for we have a great respect to our elders, hey I'm not saying that these students who wrote their heart out in their blogs don't have any respect. It is nice to know that students nowadays are aware of the issues that surrounds them specially in our schools, which we spend much time more than in our home's. Teachers should be a great model to their student's but we should not think highly of them as if they are so righteous because they are not they are also humans that are capable of doing mistakes from time to time. For the students who wrote their heart out in their blog they should have kept their boundaries and limitations in writing it. For the principal i think she should have considered her actions, her doings and the way she ruled over the school, in my opinion that principal should be banned for a year or so (hahahha) you know principals in the school's are highly respected of, they are the one's who are always right in the eye's of the students, how can she be a great model to them if her actions speaks her true persona. How could that be?She even have the doctor's degree but her actions did not justify her achievements. What a shame she does not have the right to be called DR. so and so...
