The Human Heart.

February. The Month of Love.
The universe finds its way into the law of attraction again.

I could see people everywhere. Two by two. (some even makes me sick by public display of affections) What's the main reason for this two by two cause? Why does the whole world act this way in the first place?
maybe it is the human nature, the human heart...

Each one of us has the heart given by the Almighty. And that heart serves as our compass in this universe...that heart is connected to the soul of the world, which can also be called- every connected thing around us. The soul of the world is always a positive force, so better draw direction from it, and better listen to your coz its
God's personal guiding star in each of us to lead us in this imperfect world.

Some people may say it's better to follow your head than your heart...well, it's true, that works! (believe me) some people even became successful.
But somehow recently I found out its better to follow your heart...some others are afraid to trust their hearts because they felt its treachery at some point in their lives. Well, I say its not the heart's fault- it's their own faults!
they felt it's treachery as an unexpected blow because
they didn't listen to their hearts in the first place.
If only they had searched for that inner feeling of the soul,
they may have been guided by which direction the compass went,
by which advice God himself advised.
For we have been bestowed with perfect hearts
made in the image and likeness of He himself.
If only they had trust that hidden feeling inside
maybe they never got lost and maybe had rid themselves of the tragedy.

I'm not saying you should not use your head and be blinded by love-
( Love is never blind- if so, then why is the world turning by it's direction?)
In fact love makes one understand a lot of things.
I'm not saying you should forget about everything else too
and focus all your time on one person only, no that's not right.
(as I've stated, love is not blind)

I'm just saying search for that big feeling inside you
that overwhelms other choices you wanna make.

If you just think positive, you will attract positive things,
think negative- negative things. Maybe that's why some others found a lot of tragedies because they let their negativity in the way, or maybe that person is just not the soulmate the soul of the world presently prepares for them?
God gives us signs and equipped us a sign detector in finding destiny...
the signs are the opportunities we see everyday. The sign detector is our heart...

That's why we should listen to it. Coz sooner or later- who knows? it may detect a sign...

Foster Love

Her name is *Katrina. She was with the family since she was in 3rd grade. She came from a poor broken family, so broken that she didn't know who her parents are. Her parents left before she can even recognize them, before enjoying the comfort of the warm embrace of her father, before she can be nourished by the warm milk of her mother.

She grew up with the care of her grandfather and her aunt.

Because of her condition and the selfless love of mom, mom fostered the kid to our care. Just like that, I got a kid sister. I have 4 siblings, all grown-up men. Having her is truly heaven sent. I'm greatly fond of her. I can still remember her smell--when she climb up the kitchen chair just to gain altitude so she can jump unto my embrace--the smell of undone laundry. It won't be long when she will begin to smell like a princess.

And she was my mom's princess in fact. Mom was behind every scene when Katrina joined pageants. She's a doll. Mom also went up the stage with her to receive academic awards. She's a bright child. She also participated on athletic events. Such a sporty kid. It's like we're sharing the same genetic codes.

She grew up to be a likeable young lady. And comes with it, the teenage drama. Boys began to like her at her high school, and vice versa. She comes home late from school, doing extracurricular stuffs. Mom began implementing curfew for her own good. But girls at her age want to get what they want, right?

She decided to go back to her aunt's care. Back to being poor and broken. Maybe, mom's curfew is too much for her that she wanted to stay in a home with no electricity. She has to go to the neighbor to press her clothes. She has to travel far when going to school. She has to do everything now with a little burden. But for her, it sure is a lighter burden than mom's curfew.

It was her choice and mom respects her choice with a heavy heart. Mom has fallen in love with the kid since 3rd grade. But she is only a foster mom. She can't force the kid to stay at home.

Will Katrina come back home?

I believe so. She is just on a phase that most of us had, has, and will have to go through. It's been months now that she's away from mom's foster home. But she often visits mom during lunch break or after school. She even had a sleep-over just the other weekend. Of course they still have their mother-daughter bonding. After all, she was mom's princess. And will always be.

LAND OF PROMISE … MISSION ACCOMPLISHED . . .

Mindanao once has been called land of promise in early 1050’s. Places were a fertile ground for farming and fertile ground for mission.

Pastor Enrique Litao-Almera a graduated in the School of Theology has the heart of mission, his wife Valentina, children Prescilla, Deborah, Tadeo and granddaughter Flordeliza. In early 1951 they migrated to Mindanao and settled in Barungkot, Dangcagan, Bukidnon.

He started his ministry and began to have a group of his own. He acquainted many church leaders and joined the churches. He met also Ptr Juanito Gapul and family in Barungkot. In 1956 he was able to meet a leader who migrated from Negros with so many followers named Mr. Fidel Cambare. The named of his group was Economic Brotherhood Production - EPB. They observed the 7 Gods Plan of Salvation in the Old Testament. Ptr Eking and Mr. Fidel Cambare agreed that they will merge their groups in serving God.

In 1957 the church building was built (the roof was made out of cogon grass) on Mr. Cambare’s personal lot in Kiara, Maramag Bukidnon. (Barrio Kiara, were belonged in the Municipality of Maramag in that year). It’s not easy doing with such ministry when they have to walk bare foot around 40 kilometers every week when they go to Barrio Kiara for Worship service. Their faith in serving God is immeasurable, members would have to travel Friday night from different places such as Maramag and Dangcagan just walking bringing all their foods carried by “balsa” (a cart without a wheel) pulled by a carabao / buffalo or a cow and walk again Saturday night going back home. When rains come they have to wait for the rivers of Moleta and Masimag waters to subside for them to cross.

A first Pastor of Radio Church of God founded by Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong was Ptr. Pedro Ortiguero who happened to be a friend and co-pastor of Ptr Eking Almera in Luzon went to Mindanao in 1962 for the purpose of joining the group of Ptr. Almera, the church eventually converted to Radio Church of God and later years it became Worldwide Church of God up to the present.

In the late 1960’s it’s the persecution and excruciating trials of Ptr Eking Almera and family when there was a Pastor who joined the group and started to overpower him and ruined his reputation and even in front of the worship, he use his power to destroy him. There was even a time during the service the said pastor said to the congregation that he will throw Ptr. Almera out of the window. He said that Ptr Almera is incapable of handling the church. In 1969 Ptr Almera was totally dropped down from the ministry together with Ptr Juanito Gapul and never received any single cents as retirement benefit. Such incident was never reported in the head office of WCG in Manila, in spite of that Ptr Almera and family still remain in the church.

June 1970 Ptr. Almera was seriously ill his family doesn’t have any finances for such a surgical operation and to buy all the necessary needs in the hospital. In the late afternoon of June 19, 1970 Ptr. Almera breathe his last at Bethel Hospital, Malaybalay, Bukidnon. That very day his remains transported to Don Carlos, Bukidnon, he was not embalm because of financial difficulties of the family, it was Friday eve the church believed that it’s already a Sabbath. The incumbent pastor ordered the family to burry Ptr. Almera at once because it’s already Sabbath and no one would help. He never allows Mrs. Almera and children to view his remains and even he never allowed bringing the remains to the house, 11:30 in the evening where the strong rains poured it seems the cry of heaven his servant was buried without any burial services rendered in his peaceful rest. Sometimes words are un-expressible knowing with this inhuman treatment may lead to bitterness and envy. Thanks for those few good men who sacrificed for giving the humble servant a peaceful rest (The Zapanta’s, Canogigos’ Carmelotes’ and others).

Neighbors who are unbelievers were so mad to the Almera family why they never bring the remains of Ptr Almera in the house and why they listened to that pastor, where they said they will help for the burial just for them to see the remains of Ptr. Eking who been so kind to them.

When the regional Director of WCG Mr. Arthur Docken heard the news, he rushed to Cagayan de Oro City why he never knew about Ptr. Almera was ill, sad to say, it’s all done. It was not reported with that pastor.

Mrs. Valentina F. Almera in spite of what happen continue to serve the Lord faithfully, without any grudges at all. She taught her grandchildren the way giving, praying without ceasing and God fearing children. It has been a prayer of her grandson and I quote “Lord my Lola Tina is old now, if you are going to take her, don’t let her suffer with illness”. December 21, 2001 at 5 o’clock in the morning her daughter Deborah usually wake her up for a coffee but that moment she never responded and never wake up from her sleep, in her deep sleep she went back to her creator. It was an answered prayer to God be all the glory.

It’s been a heart crushing story; but it is still a greatest battle of Victory I may say “Land of Promise, Mission Accomplished”. The church has been following the Old Testament laws have been spiritually transformed into full Gospel Church. Kiara Church still remains, before Mr. Fidel Cambare died he finally donated the one hectare lot where the Church was built. The Church grows in Bukidnon with her daughter churches.

Ptr. Enrique Almera’s family still remain in the Church serving faithfully to Jesus Christ. There will be human defeat in his lifetime but the victory to the kingdom of heaven has the greatest reward.

What is There?

What is there in a sunset,
that a lot of people love to see it?
Why not the sunrise?
Or am i surprised!

Or is it that,
people have the time to watch the sunset?

More time to take pictures of the sunset?
Hmmmm...

Or, is it about the symbolism of life?

I just wonder.

Just for me, i also like the sunset.
I don't know why.

just an observation

A colleague and fellow teacher related to us (the group) this morning about how his father was punched and had a tear in his skull from the bastards along the corner of his brother’s residence in Aluba, Mandumol, this city. His father was invited to some beer by their rowdy neighbors he said. When his father refused the offer, the neighbors threw a stone at his father to get his attention. Unfortunately, the stone hit his head and made a small tear in the skull. I don’t know how big or small the stone is, but it made a tear which knocked his father on the ground. When the rowdy guys saw that he was on his knees, they beat him some more he almost got unconscious. My colleague bought their father to the hospital last Thursday and filed a case against the guys since then. But up until now, no one has come up to volunteer as a witness since the guys that beat their father are ex-cons and the community knows about it and their behavior in their area.

This entry is not about my colleagues father but on how we as humans approach our problems. From his sharing and from the talks that we had for the past years, I’ve learned that we as Christians are really different. When we have problems, we oftentimes, if not at all times would say ‘Okay.. Let me breath for a while.. Now, what needs to be done? What can we do about it?’, the sort. While for my friend, his response is this, ‘****.. Come on, let’s solve the problem, fast..’ sort of thing. I don’t know if you speak the same too. Another Christian colleague also noticed the same response and commented that it really has a difference. We are not bragging that we are the calm type or the confident ones. We as Christians just know where we stand and to whom we can depend on. Even with a mountainous problem ahead of us, we still keep on, persistently digging into the debris to overcome our obstacles. He is in control. Glad to know Someone we can fully depend on.

Our journey has just begun. Thank You Lord for Your presence in our lives.
